Epistick or not?

Hair removal is one of those things that I procrastinate until I just HAVE to do it. But, I love my skin once its all hairless and flawless because I feel like it is smiling at me with all its glory.

My hair removal journey began of course with razors ( in high school ) when I shaved even though I hardly had any body hair. After a few years, significant increase in body hair volume and thickness and noticeable skin discolouration later, I stopped it. I just could not deal with the damage razors were bringing me. Totally not worth it. So, when it came to facial hair removal, it was totally out of the question. ( I don’t care if Marilyn Monroe did it! I for one, am not going to do that. )

Option two was hair removal creams. That had to be stopped after a session on my legs, when the cream took off half my skin along with the hair. ( Funny now, but at that time, it was one of the most gruesome scenes ever! ). So that is not going near my face either.

My current regime for body hair removal is waxing. It works for me. It works very very well for me actually. I use chlorophyl wax. Its melting time is long, but its thick, gooey and makes sure it takes off even the tiniest of stubbles. It exfoliates my skin and leaves it glowing. ( Just the other day I had a friend ask me what I did for my skin to look so smooth. ) As someone who had some severe skin conditions as a child, I literally jump up and down with joy every time I hear something good about my skin.

I don’t mind waxing my face, but its not exactly necessary as I don’t have too much hair on my face. Plus, sometimes I would have over exfoliated ( I’m an exfoliation junkie ) and my skin might be a tad bit too sensitive and so not fit for waxing. So, I use an epistick. I’m not too sure if this is the right name but it is definitely one of its many names. It works almost like threading, by pulling out your hair, minus the weird thread work. Just hold the handles, bend it and twist it. The hair comes off super easy ( a bit painful the first time ). There is no extra regrowth like in shaving and no allergies like while using a cream. The only big con is the pain. If you can handle threading or waxing, this should be fine :)

I take it with me when I travel. I use it the night before ( sometimes even just hours before ) an event. It is fast, easy and leaves my skin clean hehe. Plus, its very very affordable and common to buy.

Everyone has a different skin type, which requires its own special remedies. The best way to take care of it is by sampling it all and coming up with the best combination of techniques that help you. If you have an interesting hair removal story, tips or tricks, leave it as a comment below, as it might help someone in search for the perfect facial hair removal technique :)

Thank you so much for stopping by and reading! Have a lovely day, check out other posts too.

Until next time,
