Let go of resolutions and demand revolutions

Let go of resolutions and demand revolutions

Happy New Years fellas! I hope you are having a wonderful 2016! I have exams, so I am kind of time -sharing between my readings and slides but still.... I can feel the spirit of 2016 all amped up!

The New Years is literally the season of resolutions. But every year those resolutions just do not stick for farther than, lets say February 14th…. ( a.k.a Valentine’s day, just kidding…. anyday in Feb works in this context hehe ). So lets throw out those completely ineffective resolutions….. but hey, whats New Year without a few changes yea?

So lets revolutionise our life instead. Change it so that our wishes come true and we all live happily ever after. ( Still not over my Disneyland visit yet ❤︎ )

I think the primary step to radical change is changing the way you treat yourself. Be good to yourself this year. Seems kind of lame but this is a very strong claim that I swear by. You have got to treat yourself the way you want the world to treat you…. heard it somewhere but don’t know when or where. But its true. Its sooooo true. If you look into the mirror and see your flaws every morning, that is what others will see in you for the rest of day. Instead if you see a beautiful, confident individual, all ready to take on the world… that is who you are reflecting, your image, your self and that is what others will perceive. Only if you desire yourself will others start desiring you. Remembering this line will truly revolutionise your year.

Change cannot happen without space for new people in your life. For that you have to make space, remove everyone who is weighing you down. You don’t want anything to do with your ex who still hasn’t given you closure. You don’t want friends who don’t value you. You don’t want colleagues who stomp all over you. Remove them from the beautiful painting that is your life and welcome all the new wonderful people, situations and events who love you, respect you and support you through your unique journey.

Stop giving a damn! Even God doesn’t please everyone. Haters always hate. So try to focus your energy on things that make you happy. Travel to new places, fall in love, reconnect with old friends, read some good books, start a new venture challenge your haters with your success and it will form an infinite loop that sustains itself. My friend once told me that it was a necessity for him to have haters as it showed him that there was something special about him that made them insecure :P

Finally, like in my previous post, embrace yourself. Self-acceptance can go a long way. If you thing you will be happy only once you achieve something, let me tell you right now, that doesn’t work. If you are not happy today, you will not be happy tomorrow. I have friends who have undergone wonderful body transformation to get God-like surf board abs. But after the whole deal, they were never happier than they were before. True that they were adored by girls, got a lot of attention and maybe even started earning more money but they were never happier. To be happy, accept who you are today and then work on improving yourself rather than change yourself to be happier. When you feel you are enough, things start falling in place. Life just starts working out. ( And this is for the long run ).

So, stop those crash course like resolutions, go out there and empower yourself. Be the best version of yourself, be happy everyday and let 2016 shine the most magnificent light on us. Here’s to a true New Year!

Don’t forget to leave a comment below letting me know how your 2016 has kicked off!

Until next time.
