The white tea bubble

White tea seems like an up and coming must have in the health and fitness circles. I’m not a fan of tea or coffee. But I have had my share of green tea-detox weeks and so I thought I will give white tea a try and see if it is worth the rave and any different from its green counterpart.
Well, let me begin by saying, OMG, the energy! Yes! Ok, so maybe this could be because as I said I do not generally take tea or coffee regularly. They say that you have to try white tea for atlas a month to start experiencing the increasing energy and focus levels. But it kicked in within a few days for me. I love it because I hate my low-energy lazy self.
Apart from the whole energy thing, I would say that white tea is definitely less coloured than any other tea I have tried before. Its taste is also less dense than that of green tea ( FYI I take my tea sugar free and milk free ).
A few years back I tried green tea because once of my friends told me that its high anti-oxidant content will help with my skin troubles. And it did stick by its promise. There were visible results in a few weeks. But I feel with white tea the results are faster and the process is less bitter ( just because I prefer the taste of white tea better ). This is because white tea is less processed than green tea and contains the same anti-oxidants as green tea but just larger in number. ( Added plus : lesser caffeine than green tea! ).
White tea is also a good anti-bacterial drink. This helps with preventing tooth decay and getting rid of that bad breath caused by deposited bacteria in the gums and teeth.
It also helps with relieving other conditions ( just like green tea ) like cholesterol, risk of cancer and weight loss. But hang on, if my knowledge is right, white tea is not as powerful at weight loss as green tea. If you are aiming at weight loss, I think green tea would be a better bet.
One of the downsides of white tea would firstly be its higher cost ( This is because of the seasonal availability of the leaves ). And, is you are buying white tea, try to get an organic one because these leaves tend to absorb the harmful chemicals in pesticides more and fast.
I am definitely happy with my white tea experience. I can see my skin looking and feeling better, it definitely gives me more energy and helps me improve my mood.
If you have tried white tea please leave your experience as a comment below so that we have more perspectives to choose from. You can also leave your questions there :)
As always, lots of love.
Until next time,
