Eating your way to a sexy body

So I have been asked by my best friend, Neelu (as I fondly call her) to write a post for her blog on my journey from FAT to FIT. I am extremely thankful to her for giving me such a wonderful opportunity, which challenged me to do something more besides my daily routine.

I had always struggled with my weight as a teen, but I ballooned up in college. I was unhappy and I knew in the back of my head that something had to change. I wanted to lose weight, look and feel good about myself & be able to wear all those amazing dresses I had dreamt of wearing.

By the time I turned 18 I was 80kgs, that forced me to make a radical resolution : to finally lose all those extra pounds. I joined a gym nearby, with the help of my well informed trainers, loads of googling and personal life changing experience, I realized the power of workouts and clean eating. It not only increased my happiness and self-confidence by several fold but also has made me healthier and stronger. Previously, I used to catch the common cold n flu very easily and now I rarely get sick.

Right now I am 60kgs, and this is my happy weight, training along with clean eating has helped me achieve my goal.

Perks of working out

I couldn’t possibly mention all the perks even if I wanted to, that is how much it benefits you. I will still jot down a few.

So apart from getting into your skinny jeans /little black dress it also helps you to

❤︎ Reduces stress, depression and anxiety. Rough day @work? Go for a walk or head to the gym.

❤︎ Boosts your mood.

❤︎ Exercise combats health conditions and diseases.

❤︎ Improves your skin & slows the aging process.

❤︎ Builds and maintains healthy muscles.

❤︎ Builds self-confidence.

Ask yourself….. what gives you more confidence: sitting on your couch with a bag of chips, watching sitcoms or a good workout at the gym? And there! You have a winner!

Clean Eating

Clean Eating is eating "real" food, those that are un- or minimally processed or refined, making them as close to their natural form as possible. Clean eating is not about dieting, it’s all about portion control and substituting your food with healthier options.(For instance, substitute your cooking oil to olive oil, white rice to brown rice, quinoa etc.)

❤︎ Satisfy your sweet tooth the natural way – honey, dark choc(70% cocoa or more)

❤︎ Embrace healthy fats – Nuts, olive oil, avocado

❤︎ Most Imp – Stay hydrated !
