❤︎ Because its all about the angle
Even the most photogenic models do not look their best in head-on shots. So don’t fret over it. Instead, try tilting your head a little to the right and left to see which angle brings out the best in your features.
❤︎ Hold it up!
Place your camera a little above your head and then look at it. This helps in defining your jawline and giving more emphasis to your eyes. * Try not to ( ever! ) click up-your-nose unless you want to frighten yourself *
❤︎ Shoulder check
If your shoulders are facing your camera straight-on, try rotating them a little to the left or right to produce better angles.
❤︎ Jawline fix
To erase off those double chins and define your jawline, extend your neck. It really works!
❤︎ Lighting is everything
So try not to place yourself directly under it. Instead let it fall on your face, highlighting your best features. To get this right, always try and “face” the light source.
❤︎ Magic hours
This is when you get some of the best natural lighting. Magic hours are generally one hour before sunrise and one hour after sunset. Use them for some incredible lighting effects.
❤︎ The top-corner rule
This is where placing your face in the top-right or top-left corners of the photograph is considered to give better results than placing it in the centre. Try it to believe it. ( Here is a perfect example of the top-corner rule ).
❤︎ Crop and trim
Cropping helps not only in removing noisy backgrounds and outstretched arms. Zooming in and cropping is always better than moving your phone closer to your face to get a tighter picture. As you move your phone closer to your face, your nose seems to get larger and your eyes smaller while cropping avoids this malfunction.
❤︎ Many to one
Click a lot of pictures as opposed to just one. This gives you a lot of choice and you get to pick the best out of the lot. ( And its what the professionals swear by! )
❤︎ Relax and ooze confidence
Even if everything else goes wrong, if you are relaxed and you radiate confidence, you end up with the most extraordinary selfies ever.
